La bioeconomia come occasione per un nuovo rinascimento industriale del Mezzogiorno

Talking about bioeconomy means analyzing the dynamics of a world phenomenon, in continu- ous transformation and transversal to the different traditional productive sectors. Bioeconomy is able to enhance the meeting between demand and supply of innovation in the different phases of the business cycle. This productive revolution can benefit from some favorable pre- conditions present in Italy and, here the difference with the recent past, mostly in the Mezzo- giorno where in the last ten years firms, sectors and companies linked to the circular and the bioeconomy have developed. This paper analyzes how, bioeconomy, if adequately supported, may represent a new opportunity for the development of the South of Italy in the next years favoring the catching up to the rest of the Country and to the most advanced economies in the international competition.
