Le antiche tecniche costruttive nel territorio barese

“The correct redevelopment and enhancement of a building with an ancient structure obviously requires a profound knowledge of the historical, cultural, social, material and technological aspects that led to the creation of the building. For this reason, having already dealt with the redevelopment and enhancement of farms in the Bari area in another study, this research was conducted to define the material and technological aspects that characterize the factory elements of rural artefacts in the Bari area, in general, and in the San Paolo district in particular. The main entrance to the "Quartiere San Paolo", located in the north-western outskirts of the city of Bari, is represented by Viale Europa, which is characterized by the presence of numerous farms, stone evidence of the original agricultural vocation of the area. In this research some of the main construction techniques present in the Apulian farms have been examined: the walls, the vaults, the wooden floors and some materials such as mortar, plaster and flooring.
