Grid computing and pervasive computing have rapidly emerged andaffirmed as paradigms for high performance computing and for user-friendlycomputing respectively. These two separate worlds, however, can now interacteach other in such a way that both pervasive and grid computing communitiescan benefit from integrating the two paradigms into a whole. This conjunctionis already taking place to yield the pervasive grid computing model, and thepresent paper is focused on this approach. Purposely, it describes anAccess&Location service for pervasive grid applications which uses RFID andWiFi technologies to grant access and locate mobile objects within a pervasiveenvironment. Since this service is compliant to the OGSA specifications, it canbe easily integrated into classic grid environments, therefore enhancing themwith pervasive capabilities.

Abstract
Since this service is compliant to the OGSA specifications, it canbe easily integrated into classic grid environments, therefore enhancing themwith pervasive capabilities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
