The objective of this work is the study and the evaluation of the overstrength of short links for the Eccentrically braced frames (EBFs), in the local hierarchy criterion. Starting from the ex-perimental tests, only provided for short links a linear multivariate regression has been provid-ed, to evaluate the overstrength of links. This mathematical relationship has been computed for varying the following geometrical and mechanical parameters: the web slenderness of link, the slenderness of stiffening plates, the non-dimensional distance between stiffening plates, the steel hardening, the non-dimensional length of link and the ultimate rotation of link. Moreover, in order to take into account the uncertainty of the regression model and the mate-rial variability, the first order reliability method (FORM) has been applied on the deterministic relation, which described the local hierarchy criterion for short link, starting from the rigid-plastic analysis. So, the authors defined an overstrength factor, derived by the empirical re-gression and function only of the geometrical and mechanical proprieties of the link, and a safety factor, applicable to the deterministic version of local hierarchy criterion of short links for eccentrically braced frames (EBFs).
Il presente lavoro ha come obiettivo lo studio e la valutazione della sovra-resistenza dei link corti per i controventi eccentrici, nell’ambito del criterio di gerarchia locale. In particolare, a partire dai risultati sperimentali disponibili nella bibliografia tecnico-scientifica, riferiti ai soli link corti, è stata effettuata una regressione multivariata per valutare la sovra-resistenza espli-cata dall’elemento di collegamento. Tale relazione matematica è funzione dei seguenti para-metri geometrici e meccanici: la snellezza d’anima del link, la snellezza dei piatti di irrigidi-mento, la spaziatura adimensionale degli irrigidimenti, l’incrudimento del materiale, la lun-ghezza adimensionale del link e infine la rotazione ultima del link. Al fine di tener conto dell’incertezza del modello di regressione adottato e della stocasticità delle proprietà meccani-che del materiale, un metodo affidabilistico del primo ordine (FORM) è stato applicato alla relazione deterministica che descrive il criterio di gerarchia locale dei link corti, derivante dall’analisi rigido-plastica. In tal modo, oltre a definire un coefficiente di sovra-resistenza em-pirico, funzione delle sole proprietà meccaniche e geometriche del link di collegamento, è sta-to definito un coefficiente di sicurezza da applicare alla relazione deterministica nel criterio di gerarchia locale dei link corti.
