Recent seismic events have underscored the urgency of promptly assessing the seismic vulnerability of existing structures. This study validates the application of a simplified performance-based approach to evaluate the seismic performance of steel Concentrically Braced Frames (CBFs). The proposed methodology was developed through an extensive parametric analysis involving 420 Concentrically Braced Frames designed using three different approaches. To assess the method's accuracy, incremental dynamic analyses (IDA) were conducted in addition to pushover analysis. The paper presents a capacity comparison between the proposed simplified methodology, regulatory provisions, and IDA, considering the limit states stipulated by current building codes.

Abstract
Recent seismic events have underscored the urgency of promptly assessing the seismic vulnerability of existing structures. This study validates the application of a simplified performance-based approach to evaluate the seismic performance of steel Concentrically Braced Frames (CBFs). The proposed methodology was developed through an extensive parametric analysis involving 420 Concentrically Braced Frames designed using three different approaches. To assess the method's accuracy, incremental dynamic analyses (IDA) were conducted in addition to pushover analysis. The paper presents a capacity comparison between the proposed simplified methodology, regulatory provisions, and IDA, considering the limit states stipulated by current building codes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
