This study responds to the need for deeper empirical investigations on the relationship between Socially Responsible Human Resource management (SRHRM) and the corporate environmental responsibility (CER). In particular, the current study focuses on the link between socially responsible practice to employees and the propensity of food companies toward environmental engagement. Additionally, consistent with the need to investigate the impact of single CER pillars, the current study focuses on three specific types of environmental performance, such as: emission reduction, resource reduction and green product innovation. Empirical evidence from the food industry suggests that, the higher is the level of SRHRM practices by firms, the higher is their environmental engagement. Furthermore, this study detects a positive link between SRHRM practices and the single pillars of environmental sustainability. Results from this study confirm SRHRM as a leverage that improves organizations’ propensity toward environmental protection and performance.

Abstract
Results from this study confirm SRHRM as a leverage that improves organizations’ propensity toward environmental protection and performance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
