Costruire la città mediante la programmazione virtuale? Il caso Napoli

The contemporary city is changing, trying to develop a new sustainable urban approach, also if in a competitive system. Programs, plans and projects follow one another with the goal of making the cities smarter and more livable. Naples has always been prodigal of programs, plans and projects. In the last decades, it cannot be deny the big “attention” of the local governing class for the application of innovations, often very advanced. Despite this, the results in terms of urban life and quality of the city are evident to all the people that live or visit the city. On these considerations, the paper aims to: 1) analyze the evolution of Naples’ urban planning tools of the last 20 years; 2) identify what has been really achieved; 3) define the costs in terms of loss of image and quality, that delays and rests had inflict to the city.
