In his work concerning the teaching of languages, Comenius wrote how learning the written language was important and how the final goal of any language teaching was to help develop an individual capable of reasoning, understanding and reflecting (1627, p.4).More than in the past, today it is crucial to reflect on the importance of handwriting just as Comenius intended it. Remarkably, learning a language has become more a more a question of being able to speak it, and the methodologies of the XX centuries witness this view. Only recently, a renewed attention to writing seems to have been springing up, as it is evident from new approaches, both linguistic and educational. A research, named Write fair, proves how fruitful it is to take the necessary time to learn written language.
