the essay aims to comment on the new Italian edition of Plato and Europe (2023) by Jan Patočka, a philologically more accurate edition than the previous one, and, starting from this, to offer brief considerations on the relationship between dissent and human rights. Consequently, it also seeks to explore the possibilities of a-subjective phenomenology with a view to elucidating a phenomenological philosophy of the legal order.
