Islamic ethics and solidarity among believers are characteristics that permeate Ibadat, islamic acts of worship, and in particular the Zakat that is a fundamental basis of welfare in modern Islamic States. However, it sometimes happens that the pious intention of Muslims in giving their alms is distorted by illicit conducts that directs revenues of religious tax towards illegal purposes. Blockchain technology intervenes to assist the transparency and traceability of financial transactions and, when applied to the Zakat, not only makes payment execution easy, but also guarantees the believer in the lawful destination of the donated amounts.
