The theological-juridical discussion in Islam about blasphemy, born since the early days of Islam, is nowadays more and more relevant, in an era characterized by more comprehensive overlapping of religious and cultural identities. The Islamic principle of tawhid and the sanction of blasphemy for those who do not respect it is intertwined with the concepts of apostasy and with themes such as freedom of belief, religion and expression, mostly born from Western speculation. The paper aims to analyse the interaction between the sharaitic rules on blasphemy and the position of some Islamic counties, referred to positive legislation like Pakistan, or interpretation like Morocco, framing it in the light of the theological reflection of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and the recent history of this community in terms of persecution and discrimination. The paper will conclude that analysing the positive legislation against blasphemy in some Islamic countries may help legislators in non-Islamic countries - such as Italy - to foresee the probable outcome
