The educational experience its emotional implications the debate on educational and social professions, that in latest years has involved the academic world and the professional associations, led to an intense exchange of experiences and, more recently, made possibile to draw up a legislative proposal on the professional pedagogical profiles. The figures of the social educator and the educationalist seem to be strate-gic in order to modernize the welfare system according to a promotional and regenerating perspective. Their competences and specific skills represent an attempt to focus the socia[ and educational intervention on the enhancement of individual and cooperative resources, on the (re)construction of formal and informal networks, on community care and the capacity of overriding rigid rprofessional fences in favour of a more comprehensive and flexible approach.
