The present work aims to provide an overview of the state of the art about the transposition of the Non-Regression Principle in the Spanish Law. The first step will be to identify the laws which, at the national and autonomous level, refers, explicitly or implicitly, to the Principle, focusing on the meaning attributed to it by these regulations. Secondly, it will be considered as the Non-Regression acts concretely in the case law. The third step will be to present the definitions of the Principle elaborated by the Spanish scholars. Finally, taking into account these legislative, jurisprudential and doctrinal levels, some reflections about the real impact of the Non-Regression Principle on the protection of the environment will be expressed.
