Abstract: In an educational context marked by profound social, cultural, and technological transformation, special education is called upon to rethink its theoretical and operational paradigms in light of the new challenges posed by disability, inclusion, and digital innovation. Disability Management (DM), originally developed in healthcare and organizational settings, is now finding new applications within the field of education, emerging as an integrated and sustainable model of governance. Its aim is to move beyond an emergency-based or as-sistentialist approach, promoting instead a participatory, preventive, and inter-institutional management of school disability. At the same time, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is assuming an increasingly significant role in educational processes, offering tools for the personalization of learning, the early identification of special needs, and the design of accessible learning envi-ronments. However, the potential of AI must be interpreted through ethical and pedagogical principles that guide its use toward inclusion and educational justice. This article offers atheoretical and critical reflection on the integration between DM and AI in the school context, identifying four key dimensions of an innovative model for disability management: inclusive educational design, service integration, school well-being, and data-driven interdisciplinary approaches. The objective is to outline a vision of special education capable of combining sustainability, innovation, and the centrality of the person, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
